Summer at COI is a very busy time with lots of activities. This year we have brought out one summer edition of the newsletter for the months of July, August and September. This edition covers all the activities of Summer 2006 at COI, along with our regularly featured articles.

Before You Connect Those Dots….   The Magnificent Temple of the Holy Spirit
God wants us to study His Word seriously. One needs lots of discipline to study properly. In modern context, it requires extra effort since we are studying about something that happened at least 1950 years ago. It compels us to look for the most reliable manuscript, correct translation from the original language, the right understanding of social/cultural historical background, the theological perspective of the author, the context of the passage, and of course, the presence and leading of the anointing of the Holy Spirit.   The Eastern Conference 2006 was held from June 23rd to the 25th at Refreshing Mountain Camp, PA. The theme was ‘The Magnificent Temple of the Holy Spirit’, the key verse being 1 Corinthians 6:19 -
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.

Vacation Bible School   The Unfinished Work Of AZUSA STREET
AT COI’s Vacation Bible School, the children had a week long, all day treasure hunting adventure in the Caribbean Islands. Through their daily adventures, children discovered that God’s love is Giving, God’s love is Kind, God’s love is Caring, God’s love is Forgiving and God’s love is forever.   Exactly one century ago, one of the greatest revivals in history began. A small group of missions-minded believers, hungry for God and seeking Him diligently, were meeting in a small building in an old industrial area of Los Angeles. The hunger for God quickly exploded into an outpouring of God’s presence that rocked the gathering.
 
Kidz Bible Club   More Articles
Club for Kids    
As announced at the VBS finale, the first meeting of the Kid’s Bible Club was held on August 12 at 4:30pm.This is a monthly meeting open to all children in the 5 - 12 years age group. They will meet on the second Saturday of every month at 4:30pm.
