A Modern Heresy?
Some false doctrines are too subtle to detect! We have to look very hard to find them. Many good believers fall for it because of lack of proper understanding of the Scripture. Here is an example of a subtle, twenty first century heresy
 

Fruit of the Spirit
Goodness

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. Psalm 107:1. The Lord is good and He seeks to bless us, to nurture and nourish us.

Appreciation Year Round
A wise man once asked me a great question. "What is this business of Mother’s Day?" He asked. "With all that mothers do, you would think they deserve more than one day of appreciation." That observation by my father-in-law turned quickly into a list of other commemorations of people we don’t commemorate often enough. "What about Father’s Day?" He continued. "Grandparents’ Day? Veterans’ Day? Secretaries’ Day?" And yes, he mentioned Pastor Appreciation Month.

Effective from 16th October, 2005 COI will have only one service at 11 am.
We want to thank all those who have supported us all these years through your prayers, tithes, and talents and we hope that you will continue with us in this journey. COI's primary goal is to reach the unchurched and embrace anyone who has a hunger and thurst for Christ. It is our prayer that you will be able to join us as we strive to fulfil the vision that God has given this church. As always we cherish your presence and active participation.
 

Kids & Youth
Profanity

Just because it is not explicitly mentioned in the commandments does not it make okay. Using profanity is a vile habit common among teenagers and even some adults.
